Trunk or Treat: A Spook-tacular Alternative

Halloween is just around the corner, and like most years, this year the spooky holiday falls on a school night. For parents, trick or treating midweek can be a real challenge. Getting healthy food into kiddos’ bellies beforehand, dressing them up in their adorable costumes, and then following them through the neighborhood streets after dark can be fun, but it’s also tiring. And getting them to bed afterward—that’s the real trick.

This year, do your family a favor and instead consider an alternative: Trunk or Treat at the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center. This midday, weekend option offers the best of both worlds—for kids it has all the candy and costume fun of regular trick or treating, and for parents it is much easier on your schedule and routine.

Here are some more spook-tacular benefits of Meridian Ranch’s annual Trunk or Treat event:

  • It’s free!
  • It’s easier on your schedule: 1:00–4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.
  • It’s entertaining to see the decorated cars—and a blast to decorate your own, if you choose to participate.
  • It’s a great opportunity to mingle with members of the community.
  • It’s conveniently located at the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center.

Oh, and did we mention there is a pie bake-off too? Yum!

Whether you replace trick or treating with Trunk or Treat or choose to celebrate both this Halloween season is up to you. Having options is always a good thing. We hope to see your family for a ghoulishly fun time on Saturday, October 26.
